Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, curbs, and traffic signs.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and light equipment, such as dump trucks, rollers, and jackhammers.
- Inspect municipal facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public service inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist in seasonal projects such as leaf collection, snow removal, and park clean-up efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and city policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certification in a skilled trade is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and safety protocols.
