Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city buildings, parks, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, snowplows, and landscaping equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city regulations
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during weather events
- Conduct daily inspections of public facilities and report hazards
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on capital improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New York State Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years experience in facility maintenance or public works
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of NYC building codes and safety protocols
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
