Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and roadways
- Operate and maintain light/heavy machinery (mowers, tractors, sweepers)
- Assist in public works construction and repair projects
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA and city safety standards
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during off-hours
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience with maintenance tools and equipment preferred
- Basic knowledge of construction safety protocols
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends
