Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city infrastructure including sidewalks, streetlights, and public buildings
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during severe weather events
- Conduct regular inspections of parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities
- Assist with snow removal and storm recovery operations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
- Collaborate with other departments on city-wide improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in facilities maintenance or construction
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
