Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including parks, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during storms or other critical events
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and city protocols
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Participate in community outreach initiatives related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and best practices
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physical environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Experience with GIS or maintenance management software a plus
