Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of municipal buildings, parks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers.
- Assist in street cleaning, waste management, and snow removal operations during peak seasons.
- Respond to and resolve citizen service requests regarding public facilities, grounds, and utilities.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety standards and local environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular inventory management of tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness.
- Assist in the installation and repair of signage, fencing, and basic landscaping.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, or electrical repair is a strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
