Join the team that keeps Sacramento moving! The City of Sacramento is seeking a dedicated Municipal Maintenance Worker to join our Public Works department. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and want to make a tangible difference in their community.
In this role, you will be responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and improvement of city infrastructure, including parks, streets, and public buildings. This is an immediate hire opportunity with a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on public infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and park facilities.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, as well as light to heavy machinery.
- Inspect municipal properties to identify safety hazards and necessary repairs.
- Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and trash collection during peak seasons.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with city safety codes and regulations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Valid California Class C Driver's License.
- One (1) year of experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related field.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, or electrical systems is preferred.
- Strong commitment to public service and teamwork.
