Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of municipal buildings, parks, streets, and public facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and mowers.
- Assist in snow removal, ice control, and street sweeping operations during adverse weather.
- Inspect roads, traffic signs, and public property for damage, wear, and safety hazards.
- Plant, water, and maintain landscaping and vegetation in city parks and medians.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for self and others.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New Mexico Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, landscaping, or general maintenance is highly preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical manuals is a plus.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
