Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair public facilities, parks, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests within specified timeframes
- Conduct routine inspections of city properties and assets
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on special projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities and submit detailed reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Illinois Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance or construction experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
