Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, loaders, and excavators safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service calls during weather events and public safety incidents
- Conduct regular inspections of municipal infrastructure and document conditions
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure improvement projects
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Manage inventory and maintenance of equipment and tools
- Assist with disaster recovery efforts and community service initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools safely
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles and infrastructure systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse teams
