Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including trucks, backhoes, and loaders, following all safety protocols.
- Assist with snow and ice removal operations during adverse weather conditions.
- Inspect work sites to ensure compliance with city ordinances and safety regulations.
- Pick up litter and debris from public rights-of-way to maintain city cleanliness.
- Respond to emergency service calls and perform general labor tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class A or B Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous outdoor labor in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance tools and machinery.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and safety guidelines.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
