Responsibilities
- Collect residential and commercial waste/recyclables using mechanical collection equipment
- Operate sanitation trucks and specialized cleaning machinery safely
- Perform street sweeping, snow removal, and emergency cleanup operations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and DOT regulations
- Document service activities and report maintenance issues
- Collaborate with supervisors during emergency weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly in all weather conditions
- NYC residency required within 90 days of hire
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends/holidays
