Responsibilities
- Perform the safe and efficient collection of residential and commercial waste along assigned routes.
- Operate heavy refuse trucks and specialized sanitation equipment.
- Inspect collection vehicles daily for mechanical issues and report maintenance needs.
- Ensure all safety protocols and municipal regulations are followed during operations.
- Assist in emergency cleanup operations during severe weather events or incidents.
- Communicate effectively with the public and dispatch teams regarding route changes or issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads (up to 100 lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Physical stamina to perform work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
