Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on public facilities, parks, and roadways
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency public service requests during extreme weather events
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal assets to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement projects
- Document maintenance activities and submit progress reports to supervisors
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or facility maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Spanish language proficiency highly valued in our bilingual community
