Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment (snow plows, lawnmowers, heavy machinery)
- Perform infrastructure repairs on roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Execute seasonal maintenance projects (landscaping, park upkeep, storm drain clearing)
- Enforce city ordinances and safety standards during public works operations
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment/service logs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams during emergency response scenarios
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or maintenance
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, etc.)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
