Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service requests and weather-related incidents
- Conduct inspections of public facilities and document findings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal safety regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and stakeholders
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (loader, excavator, dump truck) preferred
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic knowledge of construction safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
