Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, graders, and snowplows
- Respond to public works emergencies (e.g., storm damage, water main breaks)
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on public improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of construction or equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
