Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, playgrounds, and athletic facilities
- Operate light equipment (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers) safely and efficiently
- Assist with stormwater management and drainage system inspections
- Support special event setup and breakdown at municipal venues
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and equipment usage
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
- Experience with municipal/public works operations preferred
