Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city streets, sidewalks, and public grounds
- Operate light machinery and hand tools for construction projects
- Respond to emergency public works requests within 24 hours
- Perform seasonal tasks like snow removal and vegetation control
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated projects
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Nebraska Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
