Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment (trucks, loaders, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on public facilities and roadways
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Document work progress and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on stormwater management and drainage systems
- Respond to emergency public works requests during inclement weather
- Participate in community beautification initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions year-round
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for equipment maintenance
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
