Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment for construction and maintenance projects
- Perform routine inspections and report infrastructure issues to supervisors
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works initiatives
- Document work activities and maintain accurate project records
- Respond to emergency situations during inclement weather or public events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (e.g., dump trucks, graders)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Pass background check and drug screening
