Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely including trucks, loaders, and excavators
- Respond to emergency public works incidents during severe weather
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with engineering teams on public improvement projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist with snow removal and disaster recovery operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
