Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, snow plows, asphalt rollers)
- Perform infrastructure inspections and repairs on roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Manage waste collection routes and recycling initiatives across designated zones
- Enforce municipal codes and safety regulations in public spaces
- Collaborate with engineering teams for urban development projects
- Respond to emergency weather conditions (snow, flooding) with rapid deployment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; CDL Class B license preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Certification in OSHA construction safety standards
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Valid Illinois driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of Chicago geography and municipal infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
