Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate light machinery and equipment for landscaping, irrigation, and park upkeep
- Ensure public safety by maintaining clear pathways and addressing hazardous conditions promptly
- Assist in disaster response efforts including flood control and storm preparation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate public works projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs for compliance
- Participate in community outreach initiatives to educate residents on municipal services
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public maintenance
- Ability to operate hand tools and light machinery safely (training provided)
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and best practices
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand/walk for extended periods
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
