Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of public parks, streets, and recreational facilities
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency municipal service requests within specified timeframes
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and report issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement projects
- Adhere to all federal, state, and municipal safety regulations
- Assist with disaster recovery and weather-related emergency operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of experience in public works, construction, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate standard municipal equipment (mowers, trucks, etc.)
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of Austin municipal codes and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
