Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters or public safety incidents
- Conduct inspections and report maintenance needs to supervisors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with all municipal safety regulations and protocols
- Provide excellent customer service to Jacksonville residents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works or facilities maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (CDL preferred)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
