Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery (trucks, graders, mowers) for construction and landscaping projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Respond to emergency weather events (floods, storms) for critical infrastructure repair
- Collaborate with engineering teams on public improvement projects
- Conduct routine inspections of city properties and report maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or landscaping
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
- Spanish bilingual preferred
