Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, streets, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (mowers, tractors, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Conduct infrastructure inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on public works projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service to Austin residents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- 1+ years of experience in landscaping, construction, or public works
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
