Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate light machinery (mowers, trimmers, trucks) safely and efficiently
- Assist in park beautification and landscaping projects
- Respond to urgent weather-related emergencies (snow removal, storm cleanup)
- Conduct safety inspections and report infrastructure issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience
- Strong commitment to public safety and community service
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Previous municipal or public sector experience a plus
