Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery for street maintenance, snow removal, and construction projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure (sidewalks, streetlights, traffic signals)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Respond to emergency weather events and public service requests within 4-hour SLA
- Collaborate with engineering teams for infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials, and equipment usage
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate's degree in civil engineering preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- Certification in OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety mandatory
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic proficiency with GIS mapping and municipal work order systems
- Clear background check and pre-employment drug screening required
