Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on roads, sidewalks, and public facilities to ensure safety and functionality
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, loaders, and trenchers with precision
- Execute snow removal and emergency response operations during extreme weather
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct inspections and document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols in all field operations
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives for urban beautification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational certification in construction/maintenance preferred
- Valid Class B CDL with airbrakes endorsement within 90 days of hire
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with GPS technology and digital maintenance tracking systems
- Clean background check and drug-free workplace compliance
