Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair public infrastructure including parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., trucks, mowers, trimmers) safely and efficiently
- Perform routine inspections of municipal property and report hazards
- Assist with emergency response during severe weather events
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on community improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety regulations
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works or maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment
- Strong commitment to public safety and community service
- Pass background check and drug screening
