Responsibilities
- Maintain city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities to ensure safety and accessibility
- Operate heavy machinery (dump trucks, graders) and power tools for construction projects
- Respond to emergency repairs during weather events or infrastructure failures
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal assets and document maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement initiatives
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and city safety protocols at all times
- Participate in disaster recovery efforts as required by city emergency plans
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Class C California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in variable weather
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
