Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair public facilities including parks, streets, and water systems
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency public works incidents during extreme weather events
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal assets to prevent hazards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Arizona Driver's License (Class B or higher preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of public works or maintenance experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, dust, monsoon season)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
