Responsibilities
- Maintain public parks, streets, and municipal facilities to high safety standards
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including trucks, mowers, and hand tools
- Respond to urgent public works requests during inclement weather events
- Assist with infrastructure repairs and construction projects
- Perform routine inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for coordinated service delivery
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year experience in public works, landscaping, or maintenance
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
- Pass background check and drug screening
