Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, excavators, and dump trucks
- Assist in park maintenance including landscaping, irrigation, and facility upkeep
- Respond to emergency weather-related infrastructure repairs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Participate in community beautification projects and special events
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment inspection reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal maintenance or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, dust, monsoon season)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
