Responsibilities
- Develop and implement land management plans for federal territories in Central California
- Conduct environmental assessments and habitat restoration projects
- Coordinate with local agencies on wildfire prevention and ecosystem resilience programs
- Monitor endangered species populations and compliance with ESA regulations
- Manage public recreation infrastructure and visitor safety programs
- Analyze GIS data for resource allocation and conservation planning
- Prepare federal grant proposals and compliance documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resource Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in federal land management or conservation
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools
- Valid California driver's license and ability to traverse rugged terrain
- Familiarity with NEPA compliance and federal environmental regulations
- Strong analytical skills for ecological data interpretation
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
- Certification in Wildland Fire Management (preferred)
