El Paso County is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our Information Technology team. Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with system administrators to ensure seamless integration between network and server environments.
- Manage firewalls, VPNs, and security protocols to protect county data assets.
- Perform regular network audits and capacity planning to support future growth.
- Document network configurations and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network engineering or administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Experience with network management tools such as SolarWinds or Nagios.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and virtualization (VMware).
