Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security patrols and surveillance of correctional premises
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations following protocol
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages for contraband and security threats
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
- Implement emergency response procedures for fire, medical, and security breaches
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid Texas Peace Officer Commission license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Minimum 21 years of age with U.S. citizenship
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Flexibility to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays
