Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility security protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and headcounts to maintain safety standards
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with appropriate protocols
- Document all incidents, observations, and disciplinary actions accurately in digital systems
- Process inmate admissions, releases, and transfers following legal procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and healthcare providers as needed
- Participate in continuous training programs to maintain certification and skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Valid Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 1 year security, law enforcement, or corrections experience
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Proficiency in digital reporting systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Physical ability to perform duties including long periods of standing and restraining individuals
- Must be 21 years of age or older
