Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate conduct and enforce facility rules during night shifts
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to prevent contraband
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Operate security systems (gates, cameras, alarms) and conduct perimeter checks
- Coordinate with medical staff for inmate health emergencies
- Assist in transporting inmates as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Arizona Correctional Officer certification
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10pm-6am)
- Strong conflict resolution and observation skills
- Physical ability to restrain individuals if required
