Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain facility security during night shifts
- Conduct regular rounds and headcounts to ensure compliance with protocols
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents and maintain accurate logs per department standards
- Screen visitors and enforce facility access controls
- Collaborate with law enforcement and medical teams during critical incidents
Qualifications
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification or ability to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and physical fitness assessment
- Experience in security, corrections, or law enforcement (preferred)
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and holidays
