Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility security protocols during night shifts
- Conduct regular patrols and headcounts to ensure compliance with regulations
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and medical incidents with trained crisis intervention
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation using digital systems
- Screen visitors, mail, and packages to prevent contraband entry
- Facilitate rehabilitation programs and educational sessions during overnight hours
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Valid Virginia driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (6PM-6AM) with flexible scheduling
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
- Virginia residency required within 90 days of hire
