Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight hours
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to ensure compliance
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document incident reports and maintain accurate logs
- Screen visitors and packages according to department standards
- Participate in inmate rehabilitation programs and counseling sessions
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during critical incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
- Physical ability to restrain inmates and climb stairs
- Previous law enforcement or corrections experience preferred
