Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules with strict adherence to protocols
- Conduct regular security patrols and headcounts to maintain order
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with professional crisis intervention
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and daily logs
- Operate security systems including surveillance cameras and control panels
- Screen visitors and packages following departmental procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Physical ability to handle emergency situations and restrain individuals
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
