Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities in housing units, day rooms, and common areas to ensure safety and order.
- Enforce facility rules, regulations, and security procedures strictly and consistently.
- Conduct regular head counts and security inspections of the facility and inmate housing areas.
- Respond immediately and effectively to emergencies, medical incidents, and altercations.
- Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately in shift logs and reports.
- Facilitate and supervise inmate programs, recreation, and work assignments during the night shift.
- Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and personal property for contraband.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be a United States citizen or a legal permanent resident.
- No felony convictions, or offenses that would prevent you from possessing a firearm under federal or state law.
- Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph and drug screen.
- Physical agility and strength to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
