Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical service units utilizing Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all calls, including incident reports and status updates.
- Communicate effectively with field officers and citizens, providing critical information during high-stress situations.
- Monitor and coordinate traffic signals and emergency field equipment to facilitate rapid response.
- Conduct regular status checks on units in the field to ensure officer safety and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or military experience preferred.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong typing skills and proficiency with computer systems and GPS navigation tools.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Background check and drug screening required.
