Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with accuracy and compassion
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units during critical incidents
- Operate radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and activities
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Monitor multiple channels simultaneously during high-pressure scenarios
- Collaborate with law enforcement and first responder teams
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Typing proficiency of 35+ WPM
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check
- Exceptional communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm during emergency situations
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
