Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security checks and perimeter surveillance
- Respond to emergencies and incidents with de-escalation techniques
- Document all incidents and maintain accurate shift reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and medical teams during critical situations
- Operate security systems including surveillance cameras and access controls
- Conduct headcounts and ensure compliance with safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Minimum 21 years of age at time of hire
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
- Strong communication skills and conflict resolution abilities
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Basic computer literacy for report documentation
