Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with precision and composure
- Operate Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergencies
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate resources during multi-agency response scenarios
- Remain calm under extreme pressure while handling crisis situations
- Adhere to all federal, state, and department protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM with accuracy
- Valid Texas driver's license at time of hire
- Pass extensive background investigation and polygraph examination
- Successfully complete drug screening and psychological evaluation
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- US citizenship or legal resident status
